Just Like Heaven: Achieving Deep Restoration Success with an Efficient Cure

Advancements in curing light technology and bulk fill materials are transforming the way clinicians approach deep direct restorations. This webinar explores how high-performance curing lights capable of a one-second cure can enhance efficiency without compromising clinical outcomes. Just like a dream: helping you deliver predictable, durable restorations while saving valuable chair time.

Course Objectives:
  • Evaluate the clinical considerations and challenges associated with deep Class II restorations, including depth of cure and marginal adaptation.
  • Understand the properties and indications of a variety of bulk fill composite materials.
  • Apply efficient curing protocols using a powerful curing light to achieve optimal polymerization and long-term restorative success.

    Lauren Yasuda Rainey, DDS

Lauren Yasuda Rainey, DDS, is a graduate of the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and has completed a general practice residency at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. At Tufts, she was introduced to the use of surgical microscopes for restorative care, which she continues to use today. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Rainey began teaching in the Dugoni School of Dentistry in the Department of Reconstructive Dental Sciences and the Department of Dental Practice. She has taught both lectures and hands-on coursework in teledentistry, pre-clinical fixed and direct restorative, and anesthesia administration.

Dr. Rainey also teaches direct composite restorative programs, including black triangle closures and predictable Class II techniques. She is an advocate for using composite resin for crown alternatives wherever possible. She teaches dentists in the US and Canada in in-person and hands-on virtual formats, oftentimes using a surgical microscope for enhanced visualization.

Dr. Rainey is very active in giving back to her communities through her involvement in Girl Scouts and Mommy Dentists in Business. She currently sits on the boards of the Dugoni School of Dentistry Alumni Association and Women in Digital Dentistry. She lectures with Catapult Education’s Speakers Bureau and is a graduate of Glidewell’s Guiding Leaders program.

After a decade of clinical practice in the Bay Area, Dr. Rainey relocated to the greater Seattle area in 2023, where outside of dentistry you’ll find her outdoors hiking or skiing, or indoors whipping up a cake.
