Dr. Robert A. Lowe graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1982 and was an Assistant Professor in Operative Dentistry until its closure in 1993. In January of 2021, Dr. Lowe joined the faculty of the MUSC James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation, while continuing to maintain a part-time private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Lowe lectures internationally and publishes in well-known dental journals on esthetic and restorative dentistry. He is a clinical evaluator of materials and products with many prominent dental manufacturers. Dr. Lowe has received fellowships in the AGD, ICD, ADI, ACD, ASDA, and received the 2004 Gordon Christensen Outstanding Lecturers Award. In 2005, he was awarded Diplomate status on the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry.
He is a consultant for a number of the most prominent dental manufacturers worldwide. In the area of laser dentistry, Dr. Lowe has helped to pioneer and publish on several laser-assisted cosmetic procedures and is a founding member of the World Clinical Laser Institute.
